Background

Avon HMO is looking for an experienced and passionate product marketing manager who will be an effective evangelist of our brand and its value proposition, presenting it to the market in a manner that resonates and clearly articulates how relevant and needed we are in people’s lives. Through campaigns and other promotional activities (Traditional & Digital), the right fit for this role will further excite the market about us and our products, expanding our reach and converting new prospects and segments into sales.

The right person is a creative and quantitative thinker who is experienced and well-versed in product marketing strategies and techniques; someone keenly analytical, used to tracking performance, and who will always readily have data to prove what’s working, what isn’t, and what is best to pivot to.

Working with an internal marketing team and possibly external Agencies, he/she will be responsible for spearheading the creation of demand for our products through effective traditional marketing programs and digital marketing activities.  Effective collaboration between this role and the Sales functions will also be a key success factor.

 

Responsibilities

  1. Product development and marketing
  2. Provide support in executing the go-to-market marketing, digital campaigns, and guerrilla campaigns to promote each product identified with the outcome of achieving product subscriptions.
  3. Provide support in executing product launches and events, working with a cross-functional team.
  4. Act as a product evangelist to build awareness and understanding.
  5. Take ownership of each product, monitoring the growth of each product portfolio and implementing ideas to grow each portfolio.
  6. Perform product demos to customers as needed.
  7. Conceptualise and implement webinars, advertising and public relations campaigns, taking the product to tradeshows relevant to the product’s target customers, getting the product covered by relevant industry analysts, etc.
  8. Develop product content for corporate profiles, policy documents, magazines, and other corporate collateral.
  9. Research and market intelligence— Follow and analyse market trends to position products. Understand the competitive landscape—be an expert on our competition and how they are positioned.
  10. Develop marketing plans with strategies outlined for the products you support, including key activities and budgets to support the retention of existing customers and the acquisition of new customers.
  11. Understand and support our sales channels; this includes training them on the products and how best to present their benefits and value to close sales; creating effective marketing materials and collaterals, and supporting them with tactical client, industry or location-specific campaigns and programs to help open opportunities and close deals.
  12. Develop post-campaign reports consisting of in-depth analysis of product marketing campaigns to track campaign performance and proffer recommendations.
  13. Develop and present quarterly reports consisting of in-depth product performance research, target audience profiling, product uptake and customer behaviour.

Minimum Requirements

  1. BSc/BA in Marketing, Communications or a similar field (MBA is an advantage)
  2. Proven 3 years (or more) experience as a Product Marketing Manager, Product Manager or similar role
  3. Familiarity with product marketing tactics (e.g. integrated marketing campaigns)
  4. Analytical mind and strong quantitative skills; proven experience in market analysis
  5. Advanced communication skills (Public speaking, Presentation & Writing skills)
  6. Excellent people and management skills to interact with staff, colleagues, cross-functional teams and third parties. Team player!
  7. Keen eye for detail
