COVID-19: Advice for Companies

Category: Coronavirus

This is a really difficult time for people everywhere and this is equally true for businesses. We’ve put together some tips on how your company can cope.

Implement Workplace Health Protocols for COVID-19

While staying disease free can be seen as an individual responsibility, it’s also important minimise the risks of catching or spreading the virus to the barest minimum. As such, your company has a duty to ensure your company is up-to-date with the preventive practices regarding the coronavirus. Should you need guidance on this, we are happy to help.

Stay updated & keep your stakeholders informed

Everyone is facing this crisis together, so be transparent about what your business is going through. Customers can empathize with brands facing a crisis, as long as you communicate with them properly. Describe the steps you’re taking to mitigate risk and give them insight into the steps you’re taking to help your community.

Communicate with your staff

Employees will likely be exposed to conflicting information and feel anxious or confused about the best course of action – for instance, why their workspaces would require cleaning every hour. Be sure to communicate policies promptly and clearly.

Consider remote work

Regarding this, it’s important to be clear on your policies — where they apply, how they will work, and when they will be reviewed. Remote work won’t work for certain units and as such, it’s important to plan for those affected – for instance, we have a call centre to attend to your staff if/when they fall ill – as well as put strategies in place to keep them healthy at work..

Adapt your supply chain

You can try to stabilize supply chains by using working with suppliers to solve bottlenecks. This also involves delivery. If your business is based on walk ins, what would you do in a situation where people can’t come in to buy but still want to do business with you? Where rapid solutions are not possible, you can put in place interim solutions, and communicate plans to all relevant stakeholders.
