The CEO of Avon Healthcare Limited, Adesimbo Bello-Ukiri has been billed to speak on a panel at Tech Cabal’s TC Town hall: The State of Health-tech in Nigeria.

With various key sectors of the country facing a range of challenges from regulation to structure and even infrastructure, a growing number of Nigerians are beginning to harness the positively disruptive power of technology. Healthcare is no exception and various health tech start-ups are springing up with innovative solutions to tackle the nation’s peculiar problems.

Across Nigeria today, there is a nascent but growing health tech undercurrent filled with start-ups – between 50 and 100 – of various sizes solving various problems within the healthcare value chain.

However, challenges such as funding, low health expenditure and the poor implementation of the national health insurance scheme are mitigating the ability of entrepreneurs in the health tech space to scale their businesses. Regardless, opportunities in the sector remain and to this end, Tech Cabal, Nigeria’s leading technology blog has compiled an industry report for Nigeria’s health-tech sector which examines these challenges and opportunities as well as provides recommendations for stakeholders.

TC Town hall: The State of Health-tech in Nigeria is proudly supported by Avon Healthcare (Avon HMO).
